Are you passionate about supporting young people and interested in building a career in SEND education?

We are working with a supportive secondary SEND school in Bradford to recruit a SEND Teaching Assistant. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a school while completing a fully funded Level 3 Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship.

You’ll work alongside experienced teachers and support staff, helping students across KS3 and KS4, including pupils with a range of additional needs.

What will you be doing?

As a Trainee SEND Teaching Assistant, your role will include:

• Providing 1:1 and small-group support to students
• Supporting pupils with SEND, SEMH, Autism, ADHD and learning difficulties
• Helping students manage emotions, behaviour and engagement
• Supporting literacy, numeracy and subject-specific interventions
• Encouraging positive behaviour and building students’ confidence
• Following strategies outlined in EHCPs and individual support plans
• Supporting students within mainstream classrooms and specialist provisions
• Assisting teachers with classroom activities and learning resources
• Helping students prepare for lessons, assessments and exams

You’ll receive guidance from experienced school staff while developing the practical skills needed for a long-term career in education.

Requirements

• Commitment to completing the 11-month apprenticeship
• GCSE Maths and English at Grade 4/C or above is preferred
• You must not currently be enrolled on another government-funded qualification
• An enhanced DBS check is required – full support will be provided
