Teacher of English – Keighley

At Engage Education, we’re recruiting for an exciting opportunity to work in a successful secondary school in the Keighley area. We are currently recruiting for a Teacher of English who can teach English across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, starting from 7th October 2026.

About the role

This is a full-time, long-term role teaching English to Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 students, starting on 7th October 2026.

You will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging English lessons that inspire students and support them in making strong academic progress. You will teach across a range of abilities, helping students develop their literacy, analytical and communication skills while creating a positive and inclusive classroom environment.

The successful candidate will be joining a school that is committed to providing a supportive and enriching education for its students. The role offers the opportunity to work collaboratively with colleagues and contribute positively to the wider school community.

About you

The ideal candidate will be a passionate and dedicated English teacher who can engage students, maintain high expectations and create a positive learning environment.

You will ideally have:

• Experience teaching English at KS3 and KS4
• A recognised teaching qualification, such as QTS
• Strong subject knowledge and a passion for English
• The ability to plan and deliver engaging, well-structured lessons
• Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
• The ability to build strong, positive relationships with students
• Experience supporting and raising pupil progress and attainment
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• A flexible, resilient and adaptable approach
• High expectations of student behaviour, effort and achievement
• The ability to differentiate effectively to meet the needs of students with varying abilities
• A commitment to creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment
• A genuine desire to make a positive difference to the lives and education of young people

You should be enthusiastic, approachable and confident, with the ability to inspire students and encourage them to reach their full potential. Experience working with students who require additional support with behaviour or learning would be advantageous.
