Are you an experienced SEND Teaching Assistant, Support Worker, Care Worker or Learning Support Assistant looking to work within specialist education?
We are recruiting SEN Teaching Assistants to join a specialist school in Bradford supporting children and young people aged 3–19 with Autism, complex communication needs and additional learning needs.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with experience in SEND, Autism, care, support work, residential care, healthcare, early years or mental health who wants to make a genuine difference to children and young people with additional needs.
The Role
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work alongside teachers and specialist staff to provide individualised support to pupils with a range of needs, including:
- Autism / ASC
- Complex communication needs, including non-verbal learners
- Sensory processing differences
- Learning difficulties
- Social, emotional and behavioural needs
- Additional complex needs
Pupils have a wide range of developmental abilities, so learning may be sensory, play-based, practical or highly personalised, rather than traditional classroom-based learning.
You will support pupils with communication, emotional regulation, sensory needs, independence, social interaction and accessing learning.
Some pupils also require personal care, so applicants must be comfortable providing this where required.

Previous school experience isn’t essential if you have strong transferable experience supporting children, young people or adults with Autism, learning disabilities or complex needs.
You will need to be patient, resilient, nurturing and adaptable, with the confidence to build positive relationships and remain calm when supporting pupils with additional communication, sensory or behavioural needs.
