At Engage Education, we’re recruiting for an exciting opportunity to work in a successful secondary school in Bradford. We are currently looking for an enthusiastic and committed Geography Teacher who can teach Geography across Key Stages 3 and 4.

About the role:

This is a full-time, long-term role teaching Geography to Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 students.

You will be responsible for delivering engaging and challenging Geography lessons, supporting students’ academic progress and creating a positive learning environment. The successful candidate will join a supportive school community that places a strong emphasis on high standards, student development and staff wellbeing.

About you:

The successful Geography Teacher will:

  • Have experience teaching Geography at KS3 and KS4
  • Have a strong subject knowledge and the ability to deliver engaging, well-structured lessons
  • Be passionate about Geography and able to inspire students to develop a genuine interest in the subject
  • Have the ability to build strong, positive relationships with young people
  • Demonstrate excellent classroom management and behaviour management skills
  • Have a proven track record of supporting and raising pupil progress and attainment
  • Be able to differentiate lessons effectively to meet the needs of students with different abilities
  • Have strong communication, organisation and teamwork skills
  • Be committed to creating an inclusive, respectful and positive learning environment
  • Demonstrate resilience, patience and a positive attitude
  • Have a genuine desire to make a positive difference to the lives and educational outcomes of students
  • Have a background in education; this does not necessarily need to have been within a school setting
  • Hold a formally recognised teaching qualification

Key skills and traits:

Subject expertise: Strong knowledge of the Geography curriculum and the ability to teach effectively across KS3 and KS4.

Communication: Able to explain geographical concepts clearly and communicate effectively with students, colleagues and parents/carers.

Classroom management: Confident in establishing clear expectations and maintaining a calm, purposeful learning environment.

Relationship building: Able to develop positive rapport with students and provide appropriate encouragement, mentoring and support.

Adaptability: Able to respond to different learning needs and adapt teaching strategies to ensure all students can make progress.

Passion and enthusiasm: A genuine enthusiasm for Geography and a desire to inspire curiosity about the world.

Resilience: Patient, consistent and able to remain positive when faced with challenging situations.

Commitment to student progress: Focused on securing strong outcomes while supporting students’ wider personal development.

Teamwork: Able to work collaboratively with colleagues and contribute positively to the wider school community.
