Key responsibilities

As an Apprentice Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Support pupils 1:1 and in small groups
  • Assist with literacy, numeracy and targeted interventions
  • Support pupils with their classroom learning across KS3 and KS4
  • Help manage classroom behaviour, engagement and participation
  • Encourage positive attitudes towards learning
  • Support pupils’ emotional, social and personal development
  • Assist teachers with lesson preparation and learning resources
  • Help pupils develop confidence, independence and organisational skills
  • Provide additional support to pupils who may need extra help accessing the curriculum
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and wider school staff to support pupil progress

Requirements

  • Commitment to completing an 11-month apprenticeship
  • GCSE Maths & English Grade C/4+ preferred

  • Reliable, patient and enthusiastic approach
  • Not currently enrolled on another government-funded course
