We are looking for a passionate and committed Computer Science teacher to join the school as soon as possible on a full-time temp-to-perm basis. About the role
We are working with the school to recruit a Computer Science teacher who can deliver engaging and challenging lessons across KS3 and KS4. You will be responsible for planning and delivering high-quality Computer Science lessons that inspire pupils and develop their understanding of both theoretical concepts and practical computing skills.
The school has high expectations of both staff and students and is committed to providing an excellent standard of education. The successful candidate will share this commitment to excellence and be able to create a positive, purposeful and inclusive classroom environment.
About you
The ideal candidate will have:
- QTS with a Computer Science specialism or an appropriate recognised teaching qualification
- Experience teaching Computer Science at KS3 and KS4 within a secondary school
- Strong subject knowledge across areas such as programming, algorithms, computational thinking, data and computer systems
- The ability to make complex technical concepts accessible and engaging for pupils of different abilities
- Experience of planning and delivering high-quality, well-structured lessons
- A proven track record of supporting strong pupil progress and attainment
- Excellent classroom management and behaviour management skills
- The ability to use assessment effectively to identify gaps and adapt teaching
- Confidence using technology and digital resources to enhance learning
- A creative and enthusiastic approach to teaching Computer Science
- High expectations of pupil achievement, behaviour and personal development
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A collaborative approach and the ability to work effectively as part of a department and wider school team
- A genuine passion for Computer Science and a desire to inspire the next generation of digital and technology professionals
