Academic Mentor (All Subjects) – Secondary School (Haringey)
September 2026 – July 2027 (Long Term Role)
I am currently working with a high-performing and inclusive secondary school in Haringey that is seeking enthusiastic and motivated Academic Mentors to join their team from September 2026 through to July 2027. This is a long-term opportunity, ideal for graduates or unqualified teachers who are looking to gain valuable experience in education across a range of subjects.
The role involves supporting students across the curriculum, helping to raise attainment, and providing targeted academic intervention to pupils who may need additional guidance in their learning.
Key Responsibilities:
Support students across a range of subjects including English, Maths, Science and Humanities
Deliver small group interventions and one-to-one academic support
Assist teaching staff with classroom learning and behaviour management
Help pupils develop confidence, organisation, and independent learning skills
Contribute to a positive and focused learning environment
Requirements:
Degree level qualification (essential)
Experience working with young people in an educational setting is desirable
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
A proactive and adaptable approach to supporting learning
A genuine interest in education and supporting student progress
