History Teacher

History Teacher – Secondary School (Haringey)
September 2026 – July 2027 (Full Academic Year)

I am currently working with a high-achieving and inclusive secondary school in Haringey that is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable History Teacher to join their team from September 2026 through to July 2027. This is a full-time, long-term opportunity, ideal for a qualified teacher who is passionate about bringing the past to life and developing students’ historical understanding and analytical skills.

The school has a well-structured Humanities department, a strong curriculum, and a commitment to academic excellence alongside inclusive teaching practices.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver engaging History lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, with potential KS5 teaching depending on experience

• Plan, prepare, and assess student work in line with departmental schemes of work

• Develop students’ historical knowledge, source analysis, and essay writing skills

• Promote curiosity, critical thinking, and academic progress

• Maintain high expectations for behaviour, effort, and achievement

Requirements:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential

• Experience teaching History in a UK secondary school

• Strong subject knowledge across key historical periods and themes

• Excellent classroom management and communication skills

• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people
