Behaviour Mentor – Secondary School (Haringey)
September 2026 – July 2027 (Long Term Role)
I am currently working with a well-established and inclusive secondary school in Haringey that is seeking a committed and resilient Behaviour Mentor to join their pastoral team from September 2026 through to July 2027. This is a long-term, full-time opportunity for an individual who is passionate about supporting young people to improve behaviour, engagement, and overall school experience.
The school has a strong pastoral system in place and a clear focus on creating a safe, respectful, and supportive learning environment for all students.
Key Responsibilities:
Support students with behavioural, emotional, and social needs both in and outside of the classroom
Work closely with pastoral staff, heads of year, and senior leaders to implement behaviour strategies
Provide one-to-one and small group interventions to promote positive behaviour and engagement
Support classroom teachers in managing behaviour and maintaining a positive learning environment
Act as a positive role model for students at all times
Requirements:
Experience working with young people in a school, youth work, or similar setting is essential
Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills
Calm, consistent, and resilient approach to challenging situations
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
A strong commitment to safeguarding and supporting vulnerable young people
