Behaviour Mentor – Secondary School (Haringey)
September 2026 – July 2027 (Long Term Role)

I am currently working with a well-established and inclusive secondary school in Haringey that is seeking a committed and resilient Behaviour Mentor to join their pastoral team from September 2026 through to July 2027. This is a long-term, full-time opportunity for an individual who is passionate about supporting young people to improve behaviour, engagement, and overall school experience.

The school has a strong pastoral system in place and a clear focus on creating a safe, respectful, and supportive learning environment for all students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students with behavioural, emotional, and social needs both in and outside of the classroom

  • Work closely with pastoral staff, heads of year, and senior leaders to implement behaviour strategies

  • Provide one-to-one and small group interventions to promote positive behaviour and engagement

  • Support classroom teachers in managing behaviour and maintaining a positive learning environment

  • Act as a positive role model for students at all times

Requirements:

  • Experience working with young people in a school, youth work, or similar setting is essential

  • Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills

  • Calm, consistent, and resilient approach to challenging situations

  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills

  • A strong commitment to safeguarding and supporting vulnerable young people
