Apprentice Teaching Assistant – Primary School in Horsham
Engage Education are working with a welcoming and supportive primary school in Horsham who are looking to appoint an Apprentice Teaching Assistant to join their team from September 2026. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on classroom experience while working towards a fully funded Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification.
About the role
This is a full-time position where you will support pupils across EYFS, KS1 or KS2, helping to create a positive and engaging learning environment while developing your own skills in education.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
- Assisting with phonics, literacy and numeracy activities
- Helping to manage classroom behaviour and engagement
- Supporting pupils’ social and emotional development
- Preparing classroom resources and supporting lesson delivery
- Working closely with teachers and support staff
You will complete your qualification alongside your role, with structured support and mentoring throughout.
About you
- Passion for working with children and an interest in education
- Positive, proactive and reliable attitude
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- GCSE Maths and English (Grade C/4 or above preferred)
- Commitment to completing the apprenticeship programme
