Graduate Teaching Assistant

A dynamic and inclusive secondary school in Haringey is seeking enthusiastic and motivated Graduate Teaching Assistants to join their team from September 2026.

This is an excellent opportunity for graduates considering a future career in teaching, educational psychology, pastoral care, or youth support. The school is looking for individuals who are passionate about education and eager to gain valuable classroom experience within a supportive secondary school environment.

Successful candidates will work closely with teaching staff to support students across Key Stages 3 and 4, helping to raise attainment, boost confidence, and promote positive engagement in learning.

Key Responsibilities

• Supporting students within lessons across a range of subjects
• Working with small groups and individual students to reinforce learning
• Assisting teachers with classroom preparation and learning activities
• Providing targeted support to students preparing for GCSEs
• Encouraging student participation, confidence, and academic progress
• Supporting students with additional learning or behavioural needs where required
• Helping maintain a positive and focused learning environment
• Assisting with intervention sessions, revision support, and mentoring

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

• A degree in any subject
• A strong interest in education and working with young people
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• A proactive, positive, and adaptable attitude
• The ability to build strong relationships with students and staff
• Previous experience working with young people is beneficial but not essential
