A supportive and inclusive secondary school in Haringey is seeking a resilient and committed Behaviour Mentor to join their team from September 2026.
This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting young people and helping students overcome behavioural, social, and emotional barriers to learning. The role is ideal for aspiring teachers, youth workers, psychology graduates, or experienced pastoral support staff looking to make a positive impact within education.
The successful candidate will work closely with students across Key Stages 3 and 4, supporting behaviour management, emotional regulation, and student engagement both inside and outside the classroom.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting students with behavioural, emotional, and social needs
- Building positive and trusting relationships with pupils
- Providing 1:1 and small group mentoring sessions
- Supporting students to remain engaged in lessons and school routines
- Assisting with behaviour management strategies across the school
- Working closely with pastoral teams, SEN staff, and teaching staff
- Encouraging positive choices, self-regulation, and resilience
- Monitoring and recording student progress and behaviour
- Supporting students who may be at risk of exclusion or disengagement
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
- A calm, patient, and empathetic approach
- Strong behaviour management and communication skills
- The ability to remain professional in challenging situations
- A genuine passion for supporting young people
- Experience working with children or young people is desirable
- An understanding of SEMH, SEND, or trauma-informed practice is beneficial
