History Teacher – Secondary School (Haringey)
September 2026 – July 2027 (Full Academic Year)
I am currently working with a high-achieving and inclusive secondary school in Haringey that is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable History Teacher to join their team from September 2026 through to July 2027. This is a full-time, long-term opportunity, ideal for a qualified teacher who is passionate about bringing the past to life and developing students’ historical understanding and analytical skills.
The school has a well-structured Humanities department, a strong curriculum, and a commitment to academic excellence alongside inclusive teaching practices.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver engaging History lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, with potential KS5 teaching depending on experience
Plan, prepare, and assess student work in line with departmental schemes of work
Develop students’ historical knowledge, source analysis, and essay writing skills
Promote curiosity, critical thinking, and academic progress
Maintain high expectations for behaviour, effort, and achievement
Requirements:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential
Experience teaching History in a UK secondary school
Strong subject knowledge across key historical periods and themes
Excellent classroom management and communication skills
A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people
