A high-achieving and supportive secondary school / sixth form in Hertsmere is seeking a knowledgeable and engaging A Level Sociology Teacher to join their Humanities/Social Sciences department. This is an excellent opportunity to teach motivated students and deliver high-quality lessons at Key Stage 5.

The Role

• Teaching A Level Sociology to a high standard
• Delivering engaging lessons across key topics such as education, families, crime and deviance, and research methods
• Preparing students for A Level examinations with a strong focus on outcomes
• Supporting students with essay writing, critical thinking and independent study
• Assessing, monitoring and tracking student progress
• Contributing to the wider department and enrichment opportunities

The Ideal Candidate

• Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
• Experience teaching Sociology at KS5 (A Level)
• Strong subject knowledge and a passion for social sciences
• Excellent communication and classroom management skills
• Ability to stretch and challenge high-achieving students
• Committed to high standards of teaching and learning
