We are committed to providing a nurturing and inclusive learning environment for pupils aged 3–19 with a range of severe and profound learning needs. Our aim is to celebrate every achievement, build independence, and create meaningful learning experiences that help each pupil flourish.

The Role:

Working alongside teachers, therapists, and medical staff, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring every learner’s needs are met holistically in a safe and stimulating environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support Learning Activities: Assist in delivering engaging, differentiated lessons that support sensory, physical, and communication development.
  • Holistic Support: Help develop pupils’ communication, independence, social interaction, and emotional well-being through consistent and compassionate support.
  • Collaborate with Specialists: Work alongside teachers, therapists, support staff, and healthcare professionals to meet each pupil’s physical and educational needs.
  • Assistive Communication: Support the use of tools such as PECS, Makaton, and AAC to aid expressive and receptive communication.
  • EHCP Support: Assist in implementing Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), ensuring targets are supported effectively in daily practice.
  • Behaviour and Care Support: Promote a positive and safe learning environment, supporting pupils with physical needs and emotional regulation.
  • Track Progress: Observe and record pupil progress, contributing to assessments and celebrating achievements.
  • Family Engagement: Support communication with parents and carers by sharing updates on pupil progress and successes where appropriate.

What We’re Looking For

  • To be successful in this role, you will need:
  • Experience supporting pupils with PMLD, SLD, or complex SEND needs.
  • A compassionate, patient, and adaptable approach with a strong understanding of sensory learning.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with staff, pupils, and families.
  • Knowledge or experience of assistive communication methods (e.g., Makaton, PECS) is highly desirable.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of vulnerable pupils.
  • A relevant TA qualification or equivalent experience is desirable but not essential.
