We are recruiting Trainee SEND Teaching Assistants to join welcoming and inclusive primary schools across Islington while completing a fully funded Level 3 Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship.

Key Responsibilities

• Support pupils on a one to one basis and in small intervention groups.
• Work with children with SEND, including Autism (ASD), ADHD, Speech and Language Needs, SEMH and Moderate Learning Difficulties.
• Support children’s emotional regulation, behaviour and engagement.
• Deliver literacy and numeracy interventions to help pupils achieve their full potential.
• Implement support strategies outlined within EHCPs alongside class teachers and SENCOs.
• Promote inclusion and independence within the classroom.
• Assist teachers with lesson preparation and classroom resources.
• Build positive relationships with pupils, parents and colleagues.

No previous school experience is required – we are looking for candidates with enthusiasm, patience and a genuine commitment to supporting children’s learning and development.

Requirements

• Commitment to completing the 11-month Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship.
• Available to work Monday to Friday throughout the academic year.
• GCSE English and Maths (Grade 4/C or above) preferred.
• Not currently enrolled on another government-funded apprenticeship or qualification.
• A positive, reliable and professional attitude.
