We’re recruiting a Trainee SEND Teaching Assistant supporting pupils aged 2–19 years with a wide range of complex Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), while completing a fully funded Level 3 Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship.

Your Role
Working alongside experienced teachers and therapists, you will:
- Support pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups across the school.
- Help children and young people with a range of complex needs, including autism, severe and profound learning difficulties (SLD/PMLD), physical disabilities, communication needs, sensory impairments, and complex medical needs.
- Encourage pupils to develop their communication, independence, social interaction, and life skills.
- Support pupils with personal care where required, always maintaining dignity and promoting independence.
- Assist with sensory activities, communication strategies (including visual supports and AAC), and personalised learning programmes.
- Implement support strategies outlined in Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
- Help create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment where every pupil can thrive.
- Prepare learning resources and support teachers during lessons and enrichment activities.

Requirements
- Commitment to completing an 11-month apprenticeship
- GCSE English and Maths Grade C/4 or above (preferred)
- Not currently enrolled on another government-funded qualification
- Willingness to support pupils with personal care and complex learning needs where required
