Engage Education is working with a large, welcoming three-form entry primary school in South Manchester that is looking to appoint an enthusiastic Graduate Teaching Assistant from September. This is an excellent opportunity to build valuable school-based experience while making a genuine difference to pupils’ learning and development.

About the role

You’ll be working across the school, supporting teachers to deliver engaging lessons and helping pupils achieve their full potential. The role offers a mix of classroom support, intervention work and one-to-one assistance, making no two days the same.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Supporting pupils on a one-to-one basis and in small intervention groups
• Assisting class teachers with lesson delivery and classroom activities
• Helping children develop confidence in literacy, numeracy and wider curriculum subjects
• Supporting pupils with additional learning or behavioural needs where required
• Preparing classroom resources and maintaining an engaging learning environment
• Providing feedback to teachers on pupil progress
• Encouraging positive behaviour and helping children reach their full potential

The ideal candidate

We’re looking for someone who is:

• A graduate in any subject relevant to working with children
• Passionate about supporting children’s learning and development
• Confident, proactive and eager to get involved in school life
• Able to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
• A strong communicator with good literacy and numeracy skills
• Looking to gain meaningful classroom experience in a supportive school
