SEMH Teacher – Full Time | Temp to Perm Opportunity

Location: Bradford

We are seeking a passionate, resilient, and dedicated Teacher to join a specialist SEMH setting supporting children and young people aged 11-18 years with a range of additional needs, including:

Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
ADHD
Trauma and attachment difficulties
Challenging behaviour
Communication and emotional regulation needs

The Role

As an SEMH Teacher, you will:

Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to individual learning needs
Build positive and trusting relationships with pupils who may have experienced significant challenges in education
Create a safe, nurturing, and structured learning environment
Support students’ emotional wellbeing, social development, and self-regulation skills
Work collaboratively with support staff, therapists, families, and external professionals
Promote positive behaviour and implement effective behaviour support strategies
Encourage pupils to develop confidence, resilience, and independence

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who:

Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) or equivalent teaching qualification
Has experience working with SEMH pupils, SEND learners, or students with behavioural needs
Understands trauma-informed practice and relational approaches
Has knowledge of Autism, ADHD, attachment difficulties, and emotional regulation strategies
Demonstrates excellent classroom management and communication skills
Is patient, adaptable, and committed to improving outcomes for young people
Has a genuine passion for supporting children with complex needs
