Engage Education is recruiting SEND Teaching Assistants to work in a number of welcoming and inclusive primary schools across Haringey from September 2026. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children while gaining valuable experience within a supportive school environment.

The Role
As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils across EYFS, Key Stage 1, and Key Stage 2.
- Support children with a range of additional needs, including:
- Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
- ADHD
- Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN)
- Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD)
- Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
- Adapt learning activities to meet individual needs and encourage participation in lessons.
- Support pupils with communication, emotional regulation, and social development.
- Implement strategies set out in Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), where appropriate.
- Work closely with class teachers, SENCOs, therapists, and parents to ensure pupils receive the support they need.
- Promote a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment.
We’re Looking For
- Experience working with children or young people with SEND is desirable.
- A patient, caring, and resilient approach.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- The ability to remain calm and positive in challenging situations.
- A genuine passion for helping children achieve their full potential.
- An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
