SEND Teaching Assistant – Secondary SEN School, WF7
A secondary SEN school in Wakefield is currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant to support secondary-age pupils and join their team as soon as possible.
About the role:
The needs of the pupils they support include:
- Autism (verbal and non-verbal)
- Learning difficulties
- Complex needs
- Profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD)
The school welcomes applicants who have experience supporting children and young people with special educational needs, particularly those with severe ASC and complex learning needs, and who are passionate about helping pupils achieve their full potential.
You will ideally:
- Have experience working with children or young people with SEND
- Be proactive, patient, and adaptable
- Be confident building positive relationships with students
- Have a genuine passion for supporting pupils with additional needs
Experience working in Theatre in Education (TIE), youth work, workshops, or other child-centred settings would also be beneficial.
By taking initiative and showing enthusiasm, you will gain valuable experience supporting a wide range of educational and behavioural needs within a supportive school environment.
