SEN Teaching Assistant – Bank Staff

We are looking to recruit dedicated and flexible Bank SEN Teaching Assistants to join our team and provide high-quality support across our sites in Pudsey and the wider Leeds area as required.
About the Role
As a Bank SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work on an ad-hoc basis to support pupils with a wide range of special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). You will play a key role in helping pupils access learning, develop independence, and achieve positive outcomes both academically and socially.
Responsibilities include:
- Providing individual and small-group support to pupils with a range of SEND needs.
- Supporting pupils with communication, interaction, sensory, physical, medical, and learning needs.
- Assisting teachers in delivering personalised learning programmes and interventions.
- Promoting positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing in line with school policies.
- Supporting pupils with personal care where required.
- Helping to create a safe, stimulating, and inclusive learning environment.
- Working collaboratively with teachers, therapists, families, and other professionals to meet individual pupil needs.
- Supporting pupils during classroom activities, educational visits, and enrichment opportunities.
The Pupils You Will Support
The school supports children and young people with a diverse range of needs, including:
- Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
- Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD)
- Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD)
- Complex communication needs
- Physical and medical needs
- Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
- Sensory processing and sensory integration needs
Experience of supporting pupils with autism, complex learning needs, sensory-based approaches, communication systems (such as PECS, Makaton, or AAC), and positive behaviour support strategies would be advantageous.

- Has strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
