SEMH Teacher – Maternity Cover (Full Time)

Contract: Full Time | Maternity Cover
A specialist SEMH school is seeking a passionate, adaptable and engaging Teacher to join their team on a full-time maternity cover basis from September 2026.
This is a rewarding opportunity to work within a therapeutic educational environment that supports students who have experienced barriers to learning and require a personalised approach to education. The successful candidate will teach a mixed curriculum across KS2 and KS3, supporting pupils both academically and emotionally as they develop confidence, resilience and positive learning behaviours.

The Role
The successful candidate will:
Deliver engaging and differentiated lessons across KS2 and KS3
Adapt teaching approaches to meet the individual needs of pupils with SEMH and additional learning needs
Create a safe, supportive and inclusive learning environment
Support students in developing confidence, resilience and positive attitudes towards learning
Plan, assess and monitor student progress
Work collaboratively with pastoral teams, therapists and support staff to support student outcomes
Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils and their families where appropriate
The Ideal Candidate
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) or equivalent
Experience teaching primary or secondary-aged pupils
Experience working with SEMH, SEND, alternative provision or vulnerable learners is highly desirable
Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to build positive relationships with young people
A flexible and creative approach to teaching and learning
A genuine passion for supporting pupils who require a tailored educational approach
