The Role
As Behaviour Manager, you will be at the heart of the school’s pastoral and behaviour strategy, leading on behaviour for learning and supporting pupils to re-engage positively with education. You will work closely with senior leaders, teaching staff, families and external agencies to create a safe, structured and nurturing environment where every young person can succeed.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop behaviour management systems across the provision.
- Support pupils with SEMH needs and challenging behaviours through restorative and trauma-informed approaches
- Manage behaviour interventions, reflection rooms and alternative-to-suspension provision
- Monitor behaviour trends and implement targeted support plans and interventions
- Work closely with parents, carers and external agencies to improve outcomes for pupils.
- Maintain behaviour records, risk assessments, pupil support plans and intervention documentation.
- Provide guidance, coaching and support to staff around behaviour management strategies.
- Lead and line manage behaviour support staff and mentors where required.
- Promote positive attitudes, engagement, attendance and personal development across the provision.
- Be a visible and proactive presence around the school, helping to maintain a calm, safe and purposeful learning environment.
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for a confident, resilient and compassionate professional who:
- Has experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs, behavioural difficulties or additional needs.
- Has a strong understanding of behaviour management, restorative practice and trauma-informed approaches.
- Can build positive relationships with vulnerable learners and their families.
- Remains calm, professional and solution-focused under pressure.
- Possesses excellent communication, organisational and record-keeping skills.
- Has experience leading or coordinating behaviour, pastoral or inclusion support.
- Is committed to inclusion and improving life chances for young people who have experienced challenges within education.
Why Apply?

You will have the chance to make a genuine impact on the lives of young people who need support, guidance and positive role models to help them succeed.
- Supportive and experienced leadership team.
- Ongoing professional development and training opportunities.
- Opportunity to work within a specialist SEMH and Alternative Provision setting.
- A role where no two days are the same and every success is meaningful
