We are working with a supportive and welcoming school in the South Manchester area, which is seeking a English Teacher to start in September for the new academic year.
About the role
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Secondary English Teacher to join our team. The successful candidate will be passionate about English language and literature, committed to inspiring students, and able to deliver engaging lessons that support academic achievement and a love of reading and writing.
The role involves planning and delivering high-quality lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, assessing and monitoring student progress, and contributing to a positive and inclusive learning environment. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with colleagues to develop the English curriculum, support extracurricular activities, and help students achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging English lessons aligned with the curriculum.
- Assess, record, and report on student progress.
- Differentiate teaching to meet the needs of diverse learners.
- Promote high standards of behaviour and achievement.
- Contribute to curriculum development and departmental initiatives.
- Support extracurricular activities and enrichment opportunities.
- Work effectively with colleagues, parents, and carers to support student success.
About you
- A qualified teacher with a formal teaching qualification (NQTs will be considered for this role)
- Confident teaching English at Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 to a range of abilities
- A passion for your subject and education in general
- Ability to think on your feet and adapt to new environments
- A desire to work as a team with the rest of the department and the school
