Are you an experienced Secondary SEN Teaching Assistant with a passion for helping young people achieve their full potential?

We are seeking a dedicated, compassionate and proactive SEN Teaching Assistant to join our supportive and inclusive secondary school in Trafford. This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside experienced teaching staff and SEN professionals to make a real difference in the lives of students with additional learning needs.

The Role

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Support students with a range of Special Educational Needs, including Autism (ASC), ADHD, Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and moderate learning difficulties.
  • Deliver tailored one-to-one and small group interventions to support academic progress and personal development.
  • Promote positive behaviour and encourage independence both inside and outside the classroom.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, the SENDCO, parents and external agencies to ensure every student receives the support they need.
  • Help create a safe, inclusive and engaging learning environment where every student can thrive.

We Are Looking For Someone Who Has:

  • Previous experience supporting students with SEN in a secondary school setting.
  • A strong understanding of a range of additional learning needs and effective support strategies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, resilience and a positive attitude.
  • The ability to build trusting relationships with young people and inspire confidence.
  • A genuine commitment to inclusive education and improving outcomes for all learners.
