Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and Deliver High-Quality Lessons: Design and deliver engaging, creative lessons that meet the needs of all learners and align with the National Curriculum.
  • Promote Academic and Personal Development: Support pupils’ educational, social, and emotional growth, fostering confidence, resilience, and independence.
  • Create an Inspiring Learning Environment: Establish a positive, inclusive classroom where pupils feel safe, motivated, and valued.
  • Assess and Monitor Progress: Use formative and summative assessment to monitor pupil achievement, provide constructive feedback, and adapt teaching to maximise progress.
  • Support Individual Needs: Differentiate learning to ensure all pupils, including those with additional learning needs, can access the curriculum and achieve their potential.
  • Work Collaboratively: Build positive relationships with colleagues, teaching assistants, parents, and carers to support pupil development and wellbeing.
  • Promote Positive Behaviour: Maintain high expectations for behaviour and encourage a respectful, inclusive classroom culture.
  • Contribute to School Life: Take an active role in the wider school community, participating in events, initiatives, and professional development opportunities.

Qualifications and Skills Required

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
  • Experience teaching within a UK primary school (ECTs are welcome to apply).
  • A strong understanding of the Primary National Curriculum.
  • Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to inspire and motivate pupils.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build effective relationships with pupils, families, and colleagues.
  • Creativity, enthusiasm, and a commitment to delivering engaging learning experiences.
  • A reflective approach to teaching with a commitment to continuous professional development.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
