The Role
As a Learning Support Assistant, you’ll play a vital role in helping pupils overcome barriers to learning and reach their full potential.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting pupils on a one-to-one basis, in small groups, and within the classroom.
- Assisting teachers in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons.
- Supporting pupils with a range of learning needs, including Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), where required.
- Encouraging confidence, independence, and active participation in learning.
- Promoting positive behaviour and supporting pupils’ emotional wellbeing.
- Adapting learning activities to meet individual needs.
- Building positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.
- Helping to create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment.
About You
We’re looking for candidates who have:
- Experience working with children or young people in education, childcare, youth work, sports coaching, mentoring, care, or similar settings.
- A caring, patient, and proactive approach.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A genuine passion for supporting children’s learning and development.
- The ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
- The right to work in the UK.
A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable but not essential. We also welcome applications from graduates, aspiring teachers, support workers, youth workers, sports coaches, and individuals with transferable skills.
