About the Role
We are looking for an enthusiastic, experienced, and caring Nursery Deputy Supervisor to join a welcoming nursery in Ditchling.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Early Years professional who is ready to take the next step in their career. Working alongside the Nursery Supervisor, you will help lead the day-to-day running of the nursery, ensuring children receive the highest standard of care and education in a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Nursery Supervisor with the daily management and organisation of the nursery.
- Lead and motivate the nursery team, promoting high standards of teaching, learning, and care.
- Deliver engaging, play-based learning in line with the EYFS framework.
- Build strong relationships with children, parents, carers, and external professionals.
- Monitor children’s progress, ensuring observations and assessments are accurate and up to date.
- Ensure safeguarding, health and safety, and nursery policies are consistently followed.
- Assist with staff development, mentoring, and supporting colleagues where required.
- Take responsibility for the nursery in the Supervisor’s absence.
Person Specification
- Level 3 Early Years qualification or above (essential).
- Previous experience working in an Early Years setting.
- Experience leading or supervising a team is desirable.
- Excellent knowledge of the EYFS framework and safeguarding procedures.
- Strong organisational, communication, and leadership skills.
- A caring, positive, and proactive approach with a genuine passion for supporting young children.
