Engage Education is recruiting a Cover Supervisor to join a busy and ambitious secondary school in Haringey from September 2026. This is an exciting opportunity for graduates, aspiring teachers, experienced Teaching Assistants, Youth Workers, or Sports Coaches looking to gain valuable classroom experience.

The school has high expectations of both staff and students and is seeking someone with excellent behaviour management skills who can confidently lead classes and maintain a positive learning environment.

The Role

As a Cover Supervisor, you will:

• Deliver pre-planned lessons across a range of subjects to students in Key Stages 3 and 4.
• Supervise classes during teacher absences, ensuring students remain engaged with their learning.
• Maintain high standards of behaviour and follow the school’s behaviour policy consistently.
• Support students with their learning while encouraging independence.
• Build positive relationships with students and staff across the school.
• Provide clear feedback to teaching staff following each lesson.
• Promote a safe, respectful, and inclusive classroom environment at all times.

We’re Looking For

• Experience working with young people in schools, tutoring, mentoring, youth work, sports coaching, or similar settings is desirable.
• Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
• Confidence leading classes independently.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• A resilient, calm, and professional approach.
• The ability to adapt quickly to different subjects and classroom environments.
• A genuine interest in education and supporting young people.
• An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
