School Caretaker – Robertsbridge

Engage Education is working with a welcoming school in the Robertsbridge area to recruit a full-time School Caretaker for an immediate start. This is a fantastic opportunity for a practical and reliable individual to play a key role in maintaining a safe, secure, and well-presented environment for students, staff, and visitors.

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day upkeep of the school site and ensuring facilities are maintained to a high standard.

About the role:

• Opening and closing the school site as required
• Carrying out routine maintenance and minor repair work
• Conducting regular site inspections and safety checks
• Ensuring the school grounds remain safe, clean, and secure
• Supporting health and safety compliance across the site
• Assisting with room setups for meetings, events, and school activities
• Liaising with contractors and external visitors when required
• Reporting maintenance issues and arranging repairs where necessary
• Supporting the smooth day-to-day operation of the school premises

About you:

• Previous caretaking, maintenance, or facilities experience is desirable
• Practical DIY and repair skills
• Good understanding of health and safety procedures
• Reliable, proactive, and able to work independently
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
• Good communication and teamwork abilities
• Flexible approach to work and willingness to support the wider school community
