Engage Education is recruiting a Behaviour Mentor to join a supportive and inclusive secondary school in Ashford, Surrey from September 2026. This is a rewarding opportunity to work with students across Key Stages 3 and 4, providing targeted behavioural and pastoral support to help them engage positively with school life.

This role is ideal for experienced Behaviour Mentors, Youth Workers, Teaching Assistants, Sports Coaches, graduates, or anyone with experience supporting young people in challenging environments.

The Role

As a Behaviour Mentor, you will:

• Provide 1:1 and small group behavioural support to students.
• Build positive, professional relationships with students who require additional guidance.
• Support students with social, emotional, and behavioural needs, helping them overcome barriers to learning.
• Work closely with teachers, pastoral leaders, SENCOs, and safeguarding staff to implement behaviour support strategies.
• Promote positive behaviour, resilience, and emotional regulation.
• Help de-escalate challenging situations using restorative and proactive approaches.
• Monitor student progress, behaviour, attendance, and engagement, providing regular feedback to staff.
• Encourage students to develop confidence, independence, and positive attitudes towards learning.

We’re Looking For

• Experience working with secondary-aged students in schools, youth work, mentoring, care, or similar settings.
• Strong behaviour management skills and the confidence to support students with challenging behaviour.
• A calm, resilient, and empathetic approach.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• The ability to remain professional under pressure.
• A genuine passion for supporting young people to succeed.
• An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
