What is Windsor famous for?

Prestigious Windsor, in the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead in Berkshire, is a popular place to live – and with good reason.

The town is most famous for Windsor Castle, the Queen’s frequent weekend residence and the oldest castle in the world still inhabited. Consequently (and unsurprisingly, given its royal connections) Windsor is slightly more expensive than neighbouring market town Maidenhead, which lies to the north west.

One of the more practical reasons for Windsor’s popularity is its excellent transport links. Not only is it within an hour of London but it also boasts close proximity to Heathrow Airport for those who need to travel further afield.

It also offers many outstanding primary and secondary schools.
