Team Teach training
Team Teach with Engage
Team Teach is an accredited training company that provides de-escalating strategies and physical intervention techniques to support teaching, learning and caring. Team Teach promotes the least intrusive positive handling strategy with an emphasis on exhausting all verbal and non-verbal de-escalation techniques before physical handling methods are utilised.
Team Teach training is designed for practitioners working with children and young people in a variety of settings, from specialist SEND schools to inclusive mainstream provisions. It is often used in provisions that support students with conditions such as Autism and SEMH: however, it is not exclusive to these areas. What it is designed to do is to enable these practitioners to better understand the behaviour of students, and to feel confident and self-assured when dealing with challenging situations.
What is Team Teach training?
Team Teach is about preventing the need for behavioural intervention through planning, observation and positive practice.
In particular, teachers who have students with Social, Emotional & Mental Health (SEMH) issues may encounter challenging situations when teaching. These strategies offer a holistic behaviour management strategy that prioritises risk and restraint reduction in favour of a positive, proactive and person-focused approach.
