Primary Teaching Assistant | Learning Support Assistant | Classroom Assistant

 Location: Reigate, Surrey
 Pay: Up to £100 per day (depending on experience)

 Contract: Full-Time

About the role:

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to primary-aged pupils, helping them to access learning and reach their full potential.
  • Support pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), adapting your approach to meet individual learning and developmental needs.
  • Work closely with the class teacher and wider support team to create a positive, inclusive and engaging learning environment.
  • Assist pupils across the primary curriculum, supporting their development in key areas such as literacy, numeracy and communication.
  • Encourage pupils to develop their confidence, independence and social skills both inside and outside of the classroom.
  • Provide support with pupils’ social, emotional and behavioural development, promoting positive relationships and wellbeing.
  • Help to maintain a calm, positive and purposeful classroom environment in line with the school’s behaviour expectations.
  • Support pupils in developing positive learning behaviours and encourage them to remain engaged, motivated and enthusiastic about their education.
  • Build strong, positive relationships with pupils while maintaining high expectations for their progress and behaviour.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, SEN staff and other professionals to ensure pupils receive the appropriate support to succeed.
  • Assist with the preparation and adaptation of learning resources and activities to meet the needs of individual pupils.
  • Support pupils during playtimes, lunchtimes and other areas of the school day, where required.
  • Promote inclusion, safeguarding and pupil wellbeing at all times.
  • Play a key role in supporting pupils’ academic, social and emotional development throughout their primary school journey.
