We are looking for enthusiastic and reliable Teaching Assistants to increase the support we can offer our partner schools across Leeds.
About the role as a Teaching Assistant
We are looking for Teaching Assistants to work on a flexible, day-to-day basis, providing classroom support to cover both planned and unplanned staff absences, often at short notice.
This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals looking for flexible work while making a real difference to the lives of children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
As a Teaching Assistant, you could be supporting pupils on a one-to-one basis, working with small groups, or assisting the class teacher to create a positive, safe and engaging learning environment.
Depending on the school and pupils you are supporting, you may work with children with a range of additional needs, including autism, complex needs, communication difficulties and behavioural needs.
What do I need?
- Previous experience working with children in a school, educational or care setting is desirable.
- Experience supporting children or young people with SEND is advantageous.
- A positive, flexible and enthusiastic approach to supporting pupils.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to build positive relationships with children and staff.
- Good behaviour management skills.
- Patience, resilience and a caring approach.
- An understanding of safeguarding and the ability to follow school policies and procedures.
