Engage Education are currently recruiting for a dedicated Behaviour Mentor to join a specialist SEN school in Oldham.
The successful candidate will support pupils with SEMH, autism, challenging behaviour and additional needs, helping them develop positive behaviours, emotional regulation and confidence in the classroom.
The Role
- Providing 1:1 and small-group mentoring support
- Supporting pupils with challenging behaviour and SEMH needs
- Helping pupils develop emotional regulation and coping strategies
- Building positive, trusting relationships with pupils
- Supporting pupils to re-engage with learning
- Working closely with teachers and the wider pastoral/SEN team
- Following individual behaviour plans and EHCP targets
- Promoting positive behaviour and maintaining a safe learning environment
The Ideal Candidate
- Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN/SEMH
- Experience supporting challenging behaviour is highly desirable
- A calm, patient and resilient approach
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Experience in schools, youth work, care, mentoring, sports coaching or similar settings
- Passionate about helping young people overcome barriers to learning
