Types of teaching jobs in England

Long-term teaching roles

Over 70% of our positions are long-term contracts (6 weeks – 1 year). These roles offer career progression, mentoring and networking opportunities, as well as financial stability compared to short-term supply work.

Daily supply teaching

Daily supply teaching jobs offer flexibility, allowing you to choose when and where you work. These short-term roles are great for gaining experience in different schools while avoiding additional planning responsibilities.

Permanent teaching jobs

For teachers seeking stability, we offer direct placement into permanent teaching positions. We support you throughout the process, from interview preparation to negotiating salary terms.

iday & Virtual iday – Fast-Track Your Job Search

iday is a streamlined recruitment event connecting teachers with multiple schools in one day. Through face-to-face or virtual interviews, iday helps overseas teachers secure the right teaching role quickly and efficiently, we run iday’s at regular points throughout the year.

What is iPGCE?

The iPGCE course is designed and delivered by top teachers worldwide, giving you support and providing evidence of what works well to improve both teaching and learning. You’ll be learning on the job which is a great way to develop your skills by absorbing information from experienced teachers around you.

International Qualified Teacher Status (iQTS) allows trainee teachers not currently based in the UK to attain their qualified teacher status (QTS). This is a new accreditation which is issued by the Department for Education.

Employed route

This route is for unqualified teachers will are currently employed in a school that would like to gain a teaching qualification.

Non-employed route

This route is for graduates who are not employed in a school currently. You will be hosted on placement in a school.

Online Online

The course is delivered to you online via webinars, videos, podcasts research and tutorials. With interactive and engaging platforms it encourages both independent and peer learning.

School-based School-based

You will be based in schools for the entirety of the course, teacher training is most effective whilst learning on the job. iPGCE will be completed over 1 academic year for full-time and 2 academic years for part-time.

Worldwide Worldwide

You can be employed or on a placement in a school from anywhere in the world. However, your selected school will be required to meet our selection criteria, ensuring that the right support is provided.

Support Support

The course is described as ‘excellent’ by Ofsted. With regular online tutorial programmes, we ensure that you gain deeper knowledge and understanding of the topics you cover. You will also be guided on a day-to-day basis by your own in-school mentor.
