Graduate Learning Mentor Programme

Your route into education

Our Graduate Programme gives you a supported pathway into education, placing you in a school as a Learning Mentor. You’ll see what school life is really like while making a real impact on pupils’ learning.

You don’t need a teaching qualification or an education degree. If you have a UK degree and a passion for working with young people, we’d love to hear from you.

What does a learning mentor do?

You’ll work as a TA in a Primary, Secondary or SEND school, in one of three roles:

SEND and Inclusion TA

1:1 academic and pastoral support for pupils with EHCPs or additional needs

Core Subject Tuition TA

1:1 or small-group support in English, Maths or Science

Cover Supervisor (Secondary only)

Deliver pre-set lessons and cover absent teachers

Then choose your path

Start on a temporary placement to find your fit. Then:

  • Stay on as a permanent Teaching Assistant, or
  • Train to teach with our accredited partner or your school’s own programme

Who we’re looking for

  • A UK degree in any subject
  • A passion for education and working with young people
  • Energy, confidence with tech and a willingness to learn

Start as a Learning Mentor, find your fit, then choose the career that’s right for you.

Not at all. Many graduates find a long-term, rewarding career as a Teaching Assistant. Teacher training is an option if you want it, but it’s never a requirement.

If you decide teaching is for you, we can support you onto teacher training through our accredited teacher training partner. Some schools also offer their own training programmes.

Yes, you’ll be paid for every day you work.
