Engage Education is currently recruiting for a dedicated and enthusiastic SEND Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Caterham.

The school is looking for someone who is passionate about supporting children with additional needs and can provide both 1:1 and small-group support to help pupils access learning, develop their confidence and make progress within the classroom.

The Role

As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will:

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with SEND
• Support children with their academic, social and emotional development
• Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement individual support strategies
• Help pupils remain engaged and focused during lessons
• Support children with communication, interaction and behaviour where required
• Create a positive, patient and nurturing learning environment
• Assist with general classroom duties when required

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who:

• Has previous experience working with children or young people
• Ideally has experience supporting pupils with SEND, including needs such as ASD, ADHD or SEMH
• Is patient, resilient and able to build positive relationships with pupils
• Has strong communication and teamwork skills
• Is reliable and committed to supporting pupils consistently
• Has a genuine passion for helping children reach their potential

Previous school-based experience is desirable, although candidates with transferable experience from care, youth work, coaching or other child-focused settings are also encouraged to apply.
