BEHAVIOUR MENTOR – MANCHESTER 🚨

Engage Education are currently recruiting for an experienced and committed Behaviour Mentor to work in a school setting across Manchester.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about supporting young people with challenging behaviour, SEMH and additional needs, helping them overcome barriers and succeed in education.

👥 The Role

As a Behaviour Mentor, you will:

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support
• Build positive and trusting relationships with pupils
• Support students with SEMH and challenging behaviour
• Help pupils develop emotional regulation and coping strategies
• Encourage engagement with learning and school life
• Implement individual behaviour and support plans
• Work closely with teachers, SENCOs and pastoral teams
• Promote positive behaviour and maintain a safe environment
• Respond confidently and appropriately to incidents of challenging behaviour

⚠️ Essential Requirements

Team Teach training is ESSENTIAL for this role.

We’re looking for candidates who also have:

✅ Previous experience supporting children or young people
✅ Experience working with SEMH, SEN or challenging behaviour
✅ Strong behaviour-management skills
✅ A calm, patient and consistent approach
✅ Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
✅ The ability to work effectively as part of a school team

Experience as a Behaviour Mentor, Teaching Assistant, Learning Mentor, Youth Worker, Support Worker or Pastoral Worker would be highly desirable.
