At Engage, we know that a school runs on quality support staff. We’ve spent over a decade building strong relationships with schools in Surrey. We’re now working with an Ofsted ‘Good’ school in Tandridge to hire Cover Supervisors to join their team in the 2026/27 academic year!
About the role:
- Supervise whole classes across a range of subjects during the short-term absence of the class teacher.
- Deliver pre-prepared lesson materials and ensure students understand and complete the work that has been set.
- Maintain a calm, positive and purposeful learning environment where students can remain focused and engaged.
- Manage classroom behaviour effectively and consistently in line with the school’s policies and expectations.
- Provide encouragement and general support to students, helping them to stay on task and participate in their learning.
- Build positive relationships with students while maintaining high expectations for behaviour and conduct.
- Work flexibly across different subjects and year groups, adapting confidently to the needs of each class.
- Report back to teaching staff on student engagement, behaviour and any issues arising during the lesson.
- Promote the school’s commitment to safeguarding, inclusion and student wellbeing at all times.
- Support the wider life of the school and work collaboratively with teaching and support staff.
The ideal candidate will have excellent behaviour management skills, as well as previous experience of working within a school environment.
