Graduate Academic Mentor / Teaching Assistant – Secondary School

Salary: £100–£120 per day, depending on experience

We are working with secondary schools across Tower Hamlets that are seeking enthusiastic and committed Graduate Academic Mentors / Teaching Assistants to join their teams from September. The Role

As a Graduate Academic Mentor / Teaching Assistant, you will:

• Provide one-to-one and small-group academic support to students.
• Support pupils across KS3 and KS4 with their learning and progress.
• Work alongside teachers to deliver targeted interventions.
• Support students who may require additional help with their studies.
• Help pupils develop confidence, independence and positive learning habits.
• Assist in lessons and provide additional classroom support where required.
• Support students with exam preparation and revision.
• Build positive relationships with pupils and act as a positive role model.
• Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teaching staff.

About You

The ideal candidate will:

• Hold a degree or be a recent graduate.
• Have a strong academic background in at least one subject.
• Be passionate about supporting young people to achieve their potential.
• Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Be confident working with students on a one-to-one and small-group basis.
• Be patient, approachable and able to build positive relationships.
• Have a professional and proactive attitude.
• Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable but not essential.
