Are you a passionate and dedicated History Teacher looking for your next opportunity this September?

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated QTS History Teacher to join a thriving and supportive secondary school in the South Manchester area. This is a full-time, long-term position, teaching Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 History, including GCSE classes, with full teaching responsibilities including planning, preparation and marking.

This is an exciting opportunity to inspire students through engaging and thought-provoking History lessons while becoming an integral member of a successful Humanities department.

The Role

As the successful History Teacher, you will:

  • Teach engaging and well-structured History lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.
  • Deliver GCSE History lessons that challenge and inspire students to achieve their full potential.
  • Plan, prepare and assess lessons in line with the national curriculum and examination specifications.
  • Mark students’ work, provide constructive feedback and monitor progress.
  • Create a positive, inclusive and stimulating classroom environment.
  • Work collaboratively with the Humanities department and wider school staff.
  • Contribute to the school’s high expectations for teaching, learning and student achievement.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who:

  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Has experience teaching History within UK secondary schools.
  • Has excellent subject knowledge across KS3 and KS4, including GCSE History.
  • Can confidently plan and deliver engaging lessons that meet the needs of all learners.
  • Has strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
  • Is committed to raising attainment and supporting every student to succeed.
  • Demonstrates excellent organisational and communication skills.
