We are recruiting a confident and enthusiastic Cover Supervisor to join a welcoming secondary school in the Stockport area from September. This full-time, long-term role is ideal for experienced Cover Supervisors, aspiring teachers, graduates, Teaching Assistants, or individuals with experience leading and supporting young people through youth work, sports coaching, holiday clubs or similar settings.

This is an excellent opportunity to develop your classroom management skills while making a real difference to students’ learning and progress.

The Role

As a Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for delivering pre-planned lessons during teacher absences across a range of subjects. You will ensure students remain engaged, on task and working in a positive learning environment while maintaining high standards of behaviour.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supervising whole classes using pre-prepared lesson plans.
  • Managing classroom behaviour in line with the school’s policies.
  • Supporting students to complete learning activities and remain engaged.
  • Recording attendance and providing feedback to teaching staff.
  • Encouraging a positive, inclusive and respectful classroom environment.
  • Working across a variety of curriculum subjects, making every day different and rewarding.
