Nurture Teacher
Location: Dorking, Surrey
Salary: MPS/UPS (dependent on experience)
Contract: Full-time
Start Date: September 2026
About the Role
We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated Nurture Teacher to join our supportive school community in Dorking. This rewarding role focuses on working with pupils who require additional emotional, social, and behavioural support to help them successfully engage with learning.
You will lead a nurturing provision, creating a safe, structured, and supportive environment where pupils can build confidence, resilience, and positive relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver tailored lessons to meet the social, emotional, and academic needs of pupils
- Create a nurturing, inclusive classroom environment that supports wellbeing and development
- Use a trauma-informed and attachment-aware approach to teaching
- Support pupils in developing self-regulation, social skills, and readiness to learn
- Work closely with SENCO, pastoral teams, and external agencies
- Monitor, assess, and report on pupil progress
- Engage positively with parents and carers to support pupil development
About You
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- Experience working with pupils with SEMH needs or within a nurture provision
- Strong understanding of child development, attachment, and trauma-informed practice
- Excellent behaviour management and relationship-building skills
- Patient, empathetic, and resilient approach
- Commitment to inclusive education and safeguarding
