Location: Dorking, Surrey
Start Date: September 2026
Contract: Full-time (term-time only)
Salary: Competitive daily rate / MPS equivalent (dependent on experience)

About the Role
We are a specialist education recruitment agency seeking a passionate and resilient Nurture Teacher to join a supportive Secondary SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) school in Dorking. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a genuine difference in the lives of young people who require additional emotional and behavioural support to access education.

The successful candidate will deliver a nurturing, structured curriculum tailored to students with complex needs, focusing on emotional regulation, social skills, and re-engagement with learning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons aligned with nurture principles
  • Support students with SEMH needs, helping them develop coping strategies and resilience
  • Create a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment
  • Work collaboratively with support staff, therapists, and senior leadership
  • Monitor and track student progress, both academically and emotionally
  • Manage challenging behaviour positively using de-escalation techniques

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Experience working with SEMH, SEN, or vulnerable students (preferred)
  • Strong behaviour management and relationship-building skills
  • A calm, patient, and empathetic approach
  • A genuine passion for supporting students with additional needs
