HLTA – Primary School – Watford

Location: Watford, Hertfordshire
Start Date: September / ASAP
Contract: Full-time / Permanent (or Long-term)

A welcoming and supportive primary school in Watford is looking to appoint a dedicated and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for a confident and enthusiastic practitioner to support teaching and learning across the primary phase.

The Role

  • Delivering lessons and providing whole-class cover in the absence of the class teacher
  • Supporting pupils across EYFS, KS1 and KS2
  • Leading targeted intervention groups to boost pupil progress
  • Working closely with teachers to plan and deliver engaging learning activities
  • Supporting pupils with a range of abilities, including those with SEND
  • Promoting positive behaviour and helping to create a safe, inclusive learning environment

The Ideal Candidate

  • Holds a recognised HLTA qualification or has relevant equivalent experience
  • Experience working within a UK primary school setting
  • Confident delivering lessons and managing whole-class learning
  • Excellent communication and classroom management skills
  • Flexible, organised and able to work effectively as part of a team
  • Passionate about helping children achieve their full potential
