1:1 Learning Support Assistant 

Location: Watford, Hertfordshire
Start Date: September / ASAP
Contract: Full-time / Long-term
Salary: Competitive (dependent on experience)

A caring and inclusive primary school in Watford is seeking a dedicated 1:1 Learning Support Assistant to provide individual support to a pupil with additional learning needs. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is passionate about helping children overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential.

The Role

  • Providing dedicated 1:1 support for a pupil within the classroom environment
  • Assisting the pupil to access learning and engage with classroom activities
  • Supporting the pupil’s academic, social and emotional development
  • Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement support strategies and targets
  • Encouraging independence, confidence and positive behaviour
  • Monitoring progress and providing feedback to teaching staff

The Ideal Candidate

  • Experience supporting children in a school, childcare or similar setting is desirable
  • Experience working with pupils with SEND is advantageous
  • Patient, nurturing and able to build strong relationships with children
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Calm, proactive and adaptable approach
  • Passionate about making a positive difference to a child’s educational journey
