We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Qualified Food Technology Teacher to join a thriving secondary school in South Manchester to teach Food Tech across KS3 and KS4. This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic Food Tech teacher to inspire students and develop their practical and theoretical understanding of food, nutrition, health, and culinary skills.
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging Food Technology lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the ability to teach GCSE Food Preparation and Nutrition being highly desirable. You will join a supportive department committed to achieving excellent outcomes and fostering a love of learning.
About the Role
As a Food Technology Teacher, you will:
- Plan and deliver high-quality Food Technology lessons that engage and challenge students.
- Teach Food Preparation and Nutrition across Key Stages 3 and 4.
- Assess, monitor, and report on student progress in line with school policies.
- Create a safe and stimulating practical learning environment.
- Promote healthy eating, nutrition awareness, and practical cookery skills.
- Contribute to curriculum development and departmental initiatives.
- Support students of varying abilities to achieve their full potential.
- Participate fully in school life, including parents’ evenings and enrichment activities.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
- Experience teaching Food Technology within a secondary school setting.
- Strong subject knowledge and a passion for food, nutrition, and education.
- Excellent classroom management and organisational skills.
- The ability to motivate, engage, and inspire young people.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
- The ability to work collaboratively as part of a successful team.
